From the yards of Mataró to stages across the world, the artistic and personal adventure of Peret, the artist who, with a little mambo, a splash of tanguillo and a pinch of rock, created Catalan rumba. Fifty years after the success of "Borriquito," the master's grandchildren lead an intimate portrait of the family and of the birth of the only musical genre born on the streets of twentieth-century Europe.
Days before his death, Peret shared the origins of Catalan rumba with his granddaughter Santa, planting in her the urge to spread his legacy. Alongside the Pubill family, the film gathers the testimony of Justo Molinero, La Chana, Petitet, La Payoya, Joanet, Míliu Calabuch, Pep García, Peret Reyes, Joan Surribas, Cèlia Sánchez-Müstich, Pepi Becas and Rafael Moll.
