Paloma Zapata selected for Berlinale Talents 2026
January 2026
Paloma Zapata, director and producer at La Fábrica Naranja, has been selected as one of the 200 film professionals joining Berlinale Talents 2026. The selection includes fifteen Spanish professionals, chosen from 3,438 applications submitted from 120 countries.
Berlinale Talents is the talent development programme of the Berlin International Film Festival, taking place in Berlin from 13 to 18 February 2026. This year's edition, under the motto «Creating Confusion: Cinema, Chaos and the Power of Discomfort», brings together directors, producers, screenwriters, actors, editors and other audiovisual professionals in an intensive programme of talks, workshops, mentoring sessions and networking with the international film industry, running alongside the Berlinale.
Paloma Zapata is taking three La Fábrica Naranja projects at different stages of development, also featured in the official Berlinale Talents catalogue:
- Juliette & Camille — Music documentary in post-production, co-produced with Indígena Films. An encounter between two women artists at a recording studio in rural Galicia. Project page at Berlinale Talents.
- El color verde — The director's first fiction feature, in pre-production. A Spanish-Croatian co-production with Aire de Cinema and Nukleus Film, set in the Valencian neighbourhood of Benimaclet. Project page at Berlinale Talents.
- Los caprichos — Second fiction feature in development, screenplay co-written with Irene Benlloch. Co-produced with Aire de Cinema. Project page at Berlinale Talents.
This selection strengthens Paloma Zapata's presence at Europe's leading film forums: over the past year, her projects have also been featured at Locarno Pro, Ventana Sur, FICG Guadalajara and DocsBarcelona.
