El Color Verd selected for RECMatch 2025 at the Tarragona REC Festival

El Color Verd, the first fiction feature directed by Paloma Zapata, has been selected for RECMatch, the strand of RECLab at the REC — Tarragona International Film Festival dedicated to strengthening direction and work with actors. The selection has been announced for the 2025 edition of the festival, held from 3 to 8 December in Tarragona.

RECMatch brings together projects with strong identity in their creative growth stage, providing mentorship from international industry experts. Alongside El Color Verd, directed by Paloma Zapata and produced by Mila Luengo, other selected projects include Espejismo by Laura Gómez and La Koreana by Joana Moya. The mentorship programme features figures such as Mandy Kean, Laufey Gudjónsdóttir, Margaret von Schiller and Antje Knapp.

Participating projects are eligible for the CineMart Award by Catalan Films, which grants accreditation to participate in industry activities and the CineMart co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

El Color Verd is a Spanish-Croatian co-production between La Fábrica Naranja, Aire de Cinema and Nukleus Film. Set in the Valencian neighbourhood of Benimaclet, the film is a contemporary fable about family trauma and community resistance that combines psychological thriller with intimate drama. The project has previously been awarded the EKKOMED Prize at Cyprus Film Days and selected for Berlinale Talents 2026.
