Juliette & Camille awarded at Ventana Sur 2024
December 2024
Juliette & Camille, a documentary feature directed by Paloma Zapata, has been selected in the Ventana DOC section of the Ventana Sur 2024 audiovisual market, held December 2-6 in Montevideo. This was the 16th edition of the market and the first held outside Argentina, gathering more than 2,300 participants from over 40 countries.
As part of Ventana DOC —a boutique space dedicated to the documentary market that offers the opportunity to present projects to key industry players—, the project has received recognition from the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), consisting of selection to participate in its 2025 Co-Production Industry Meeting.
Juliette & Camille is a Spain-Peru co-production between La Fábrica Naranja, Indígena Films and Tupay Cine, with the support of ICEC and AGADIC. Currently in post-production, the project has been featured at Spanish Film Previews at Locarno Pro, DocsBarcelona, MAFIZ, Málaga Film Festival and SANFIC.
Ventana Sur is organised by the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival together with INCAA and ACAU. In its 2024 edition, Spain obtained four recognitions, including those for Juliette & Camille, "Sacha" (Ecuador-Spain) by Bogotá Audiovisual Market, "A usina atrás do morro" (Brazil-Spain) by Annecy Festival, and "Triangle" (Spain) by Bucheon Festival.
